Michael Hey

For over 40+ years I have had various SLR and DSLR cameras but never quite understanding the mechanics of these amazing bits of kit,
and as a result I have been disappointed with 90% of the images when processed.
Now, since joining HPIC over a year ago, I have improved my knowledge, skills and understanding which has enabled me to produce images which I am more than satisfied with.

My first cameras were an Olympus OM10 and a Konica Minolta SLR (both film), then a Konica Minolta Dynax 7D DSLR and a Sony Nex 7 with various lenses.
Things changed when I invested in a second hand Canon EOS 7D Mark I, a Canon 70-30mm f/4-5.6L IS USM and Canon EFS 15-85mm IS lenses, enabling me to create images of much better quality.
Spurred on by this, I purchased a Canon EOS 7D Mark II body, which I have yet to master fully!

My areas of interest have been influenced by my love of travelling around the UK and the world and those are Landscape and Wildlife/Nature,
and my albums are full of these types of images!
Enjoyment in this hobby is now further enhanced by editing my images in Lightroom.

The future is to get to grips with Night Sky and time-lapse photography.
