News

The latest news from our recent club evenings and events or any other items of interest.

This was a practical evening, Barbara had planned to develop the pin hole camera paper, some had come out too dark, so Barbara thought outside the box and gave a talk on using analogue cameras and demonstrated on how to develop black and white analogue film using the most up to date equipment that did not involve having a dark room to hand.

Members were asked to bring in prints on the theme of construction which were duly considered, voted on and critiqued by two experienced members James and Graham.

There were images submitted that clearly showed members had thought about what they were taking and the winners were for the evening:

1st – John Boothroyd with 41 points

2nd – George Fewster with 26 points

3rd – Sheelagh Davidson with 24 points

We were definitely spoiled this evening by Tracey visiting us by Zoom. Tracey gave us a talk that was inspirational that even if Nature was not your favourite genre, then it made you think twice about going out to do something different. Tracey’s passion for wildlife clearly came through, from her very first trip to Africa, to Japan, Finland, Iceland, France, Spain, UK, Tracey showed us her award-winning images and the behind the scenes of where she was in a particular environment. Tracey also gave us hints and tips on where to go for opportunities to take such images, basically be patient, take photos for yourself, expect the unexpected and it’s a challenge!

Tracey proved so popular by the members that we have been able to invite her back next year for a face to face meeting for her next talk.
